Chennai, Apr 18: India is witnessing the peak of political pressure as polling for the 2nd phase of Lok Sabha elections is underway. In this phase, voting is taking place for 95 constituencies, spread over 11 states and one Union Territory.

Polling is being held for 38 seats in Tamil Nadu, 14 in Karnataka, 10 in Maharashtra, eight in Uttar Pradesh, five each in Assam, Bihar, and Odisha, 3 each in Chhattisgarh and West Bengal, two in Jammu and Kashmir and one each in Manipur and Puducherry.

Several actors and politicians were out early to vote in phase 2 of the Lok Sabha polls. In Tamil Nadu, 38 out of the 39 seats will vote on Thursday with the exception of Vellore, which became the first Lok Sabha constituency where elections stood canceled after a seizure of cash by authorities.
