Mumbai, May 18: A prince who left his home in search of peace and meditated for 49 days continuously is the 4th largest religion in the world. Buddha, also known as ‘The Awakened One’ or ‘The Enlightened One’ embarked on his beautiful journey to self-discovery after he witnessed human suffering in the world. As the world today celebrates Buddha Purnima to mark his birth anniversary, it is also that today he attained Nirvana under the Mahabodhi tree at Bodh Gaya.

Years later, he achieved self-discovery and was named ‘Buddha’.
