Bhopal, May 21: Claiming the Congress government unsuccessful for the state, Leader of Opposition in Madhya Pradesh Assembly Gopal Bhargava has written a letter to the Governor Anandiben Patel to convene a special session of the state Assembly as soon as possible.
BJP leader Bhargava said, in the changing political scenario, the Kamal Nath-led Congress government should prove the majority in the Assembly.
In the letter, Bhargava said that in the six-month span, there has been a lot of problems faced by the state like drinking water deficiency, no proper administration in law and order, injustice with farmers etc.
“We are sending a letter to the governor requesting an Assembly session as there are a lot of issues. The government will fall on its own; I don’t believe in horse-trading but I feel its (the state government’s) time has come and it will have to go soon.” state leader of the Opposition Gopal Bhargava said.
In elections for the 230-member Assembly last year, the Congress won 114 seat whiles the BJP coming a close second with 109. The Bahujan Samaj Party has won two seats, the Samajwadi Party one and the Independents bagged four seats. Congress formed a government with the support of BSP and SP.
Reacting to this, Chief Minister Kamal Nath has said he is all prepared to go for a floor test.CM Nath also claimed that he had proven the majority of his coalition government "four times" in the last five months, and is ready to do so again.
