Jaipur, May 25: On 23rd May, BJP broke so many records as it emerges as a ruling party with a majority in through the country. But in the case of Rajasthan, BJP’s victory touched to the sky.
Among the magnificent victory in the country, BJP set another record in Rajasthan as the party emerged as the only one in the state to make a clean sweep for the 2nd time in the row in the last 67 years.
The main reason behind this magnificent victory is the huge anti-incumbency against the Congress which came up only 150 days back. Many BJP MLAs expressed, Congress managed to form a government only by making false promises to the people.
Also, it was for the first time that 21 out of 25 MPs have won by a margin of over two lakh votes. In fact, on three seats, the margin has been around five lakh votes.
Surprisingly, this election is the conquest of CM Ashok Gehlot’s son Vaibhav Gehlot, who was contesting from Jodhpur seat and was making his debut into politics. All efforts of Ashok Gehlot goes in vain. Vaibhav Gehlot was lost by margin 2,74,440 votes by sitting MP and Union Minister of state Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
The most shocking element is that Ashok Gehlot has represented the seat for around 40 years in Parliament.
Another shocking result is from Barmer. In the fight between BJP leader, Kailash Chowdhary against Congress leader Manvendra Singh, but Mavendra lost by over 3.23 Lakh votes.
The other impressive victories in the state were of Union Minister for State and sitting MP of Jaipur Rural Rajyawardhan Singh Rathore who won by a record margin 3.93 lakh votes defeating his rival Krishna Poonia who is a Congress MLA from Jaipur Rural Assembly constituency.
The major player in the election is Jat and Gujjar community. They gave huge support to BJP to win the mandate.
The inclusion of Gujjar leader Kirori Singh Bainsla into the party was a big support for the BJP. The party has been lacking a strong Gujjar leader in the eastern belt of Rajasthan earlier these lacunas were plugged in with this social engineering.
