Jeddah, May 30: Ibrahim al-Assaf, the Foreign Minister, Saudy Arabia today urged Muslim nations to confront the recent attacks in the region with all means of force and firmness. Al-Asad made the comments at a meeting of Foreign Ministers of 57-nation Organisation of of Islamic Cooperation ahead of a series of summits in the Kingdom beginning today.
“the alleged sabotage of boats off the coast of UAE and a drone attack on a Saudi oil pipeline by Yemen’s Iranian Backed Huthi rebels requires the region to make more efforts to counter the acts of extremist and terror groups,’’ said Al-Asaf. Although the United States has accused Iran of being involved behind the string of incidents this month, which also includes a rocket strike near the US embassy in Baghadad, Iran has denied being involved in the attacks, which come amid tensions between Iran and US. An Iranian official was at the meeting.
