Two days after West Bengal Chief minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Mamata Banerjee said that PM Modi needs a "tight slap of democracy". Referring to her comment the Prime Minister today said that coming from "Didi", he would consider her slap as a blessing. Continuing it further, PM Modi said that Mamata Banerjee is abusing the Constitution of country as he ignored to talk to me over Cyclone Fani. But she feels proud in talking to Prime Minister of Pakistan.
Speaking at an election gathering in Purulia, PM Modi accused Mamata Banerjee of destroying the Bengal of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. “Gurudev (Rabindranath Tagore) had said he wants to see such India where people live without fear with their head held high. However, earlier Congress and Left and now Mamata didi has demolished what Gurudev preached,” PM Modi said in his stinging attack on the Bengal CM.
Apart from this the Prime Minister also highlighted the various schemes that the government implemented for the people. Mamata Banerjee has given a blind eye to all the schemes acting as a speed breaker for public development. Being the Chief Minister herself, no progressive development is witnessed in the state.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s campaign in West Bengal today ahead of the sixth phase of Lok Sabha polls which is scheduled to be held on Sunday, April 12 was aimed at garnering support for the Bharatiya Janata Party which is trying to making inroads into Trinamool Congress’s fort.
