Celebrating the 'firsts'..! EAM Jaishankar honors former EAM Swaraj in his first tweet

New Delhi, June 01: New is the responsibility and so is the enthusiasm..! With the redesigned set of ministers beginning their schedule after assuming the respective charges in the Modi’s second tenure, here is a light yet significant bit shared by the newly appointed External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, it being his first tweet as an authority.

 

Early morning, the twitter account named ‘Dr. S. Jaishankar’, having 66.6k followers thanked the twitteratis for their warm wishes besides honouring the former EAM Sushma Swaraj’s work. “My first tweet. Thank you all for the best wishes! Honoured to be given this responsibility. Proud to follow on the footsteps of Sushma Swaraj Ji”, EAM Jaishankar tweeted.

In the earlier series of tweets, he diligently seems to have kicked off with his responsibilities where he claims, “We at Team MEA India continue to be at your service 24x7”.

 

A career diplomat with extensive experience in bilateral relations with China, the United States and Pakistan, becomes one of the powerful face of the Cabinet Committee on Security. Former foreign secretary Jaishankar was named Minister of External Affairs in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's new cabinet, replacing BJP leader Sushma Swaraj who held the post in PM Modi's first cabinet.
