Bhubaneshwar, June 15: The victory in FIH hockey series is not too far now. Indian team yesterday defeated Japan 7-2 in the semifinal at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneshwar. The summit clash will be played tomorrow between India and South Africa.
The match proved to be a milestone for Harmanpreet Singh as he competed 100 international Caps for India on Friday. Harmanpreet made his international debut in May 2015 and his very first match was played against Japan and that too was in Bhubaneshwar. “The game gave me a nice gift with a win. Our mindset was always to put in full effort. We came back well” Harampreet said. Meanwhile, South Africa beat the USA 2-1 in another semifinal match.
