Beijing, June 18: Waking up in a strong alarm, the neighbouring nation China observed a 6.0 magnitude earthquake pulling a dozens to the valley of death and injuring 134 on Tuesday. Following this, more than 4000 people have been relocated to the safe province.
A dozens of structures got damaged in an earthquake outside Yibin in Sichuan province. Also cracks appeared in several highways and a major highway connecting Yibin and Xuyong County remains closed.
An early warning alarm system was however triggered in the provincial capital Chengdu about one minute before the earthquake struck. "It rang 10 minutes before the earthquake in Yibin”, an official said.
The Ministry of Emergency Management in China has activated an emergency response and sent a work team to the stricken areas to provide guidance in rescue and disaster relief.
