Germany, Netherlands business community showed keen interest to invest in state, says Himachal Pradesh CM

Shimla, June 18: Himachal Pradesh Government has got a positive response from the business community of Germany and Netherlands as they showed keen interest to invest in the state, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said after returning from both the countries.


 

Interacting with the media after his arrival from Germany and Netherlands, Thakur said that the business community of both the countries showed interest to invest in various sectors including agriculture, Horticulture, food and fruit processing, tourism and hydel.

The CM said that the globally renowned Wageningen University Netherlands showed keen interest to cooperate in post-harvest research and agro-food robotics in the state. The university is already engaged in some projects in Himachal Pradesh, particularly in the area of controlled atmosphere (CA) stores.

MoUs were also signed between the Government of Himachal Pradesh and Frankfurt Innovation Zentrum (FIZ) at Frankfurt, Germany to explore areas of collaboration in the fields of Ayurgenomics, precision medicine and precision agriculture.

The CM further stated that MoU was also signed with ASSOCHAM EUROPE in the Netherlands to strengthen and expand in the area of agriculture, horticulture, logistics and infrastructure. Thakur expressed hope that the road shows held by him in both countries would go a long way in attracting investments for the state.

Before proceeding on a foreign visit, he also called on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and invited him for the two-day Global Investors meet from November 7 at Dharamshala.
