Straight to Jail: Delhi Court Sentences Three Months Imprisonment to AAP’s Manoj Kumar

New Delhi, June 25: Aam Aadmi Party MLA Manoj Kumar has been sentenced to three months in jail by a Delhi court today for obstructing election process at a polling station in Kalyan Puri area of East Delhi during 2013 Assembly polls. 

 
The court had on the 11th of the June convicted Manoj Kumar for obstructing a public servant in discharge of public functions and disorderly conduct in or near polling stations. The case was logged on a complaint regarding hindrance in the election process being created by over 50 protesters, led by the then AAP candidates Manoj Kumar, at the main gate of the MCD school, during 2013 Delhi Assembly elections, which caused problems to the voters. 
However, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Samar Vishal granted bail to him on furnishing a bail bond of Rs. 10,000 to enable him to challenge the order in the superior court.
