New Delhi, July 20: “Indian heritage is our identity and hardly any country of the world presents such a lucrative mix of a rich and diverse heritage that is so old in terms of civilization”, said Prahlad Singh Patel while inaugurating the illumination of historic Safdarjung Tomb in the national capital.
“With the illumination, the architectural beauty of the 17th century Mughal era monument will display its historic reflection on Delhi after sunset”, he said further adding that India was full of tourist attractions, where there was a unique blend of cultures, religions and beliefs.
Further lauding India and it’s cultures, the Culture Minister said, “The intimacy between the people of different cultures and traditions has made this unique country India. Over the centuries, this Safdarjung Tomb has been giving testimony of the rich archaeological heritage of Delhi. Today, it is a magnificent example of the Incredible India.
Meanwhile he also informed of the survey undertaken by the Archaeological Survey of India to highlight the archaeological magnificence of India’s historical monuments, which would also illuminate the important monuments of the national capital.
Hoping to see the new innovative form of the Safdarjung Tomb, he signed off saying that this would not only make the local residents feel proud of their heritage but will also help in launching India’s rich cultural heritage on world tourism.
Safdarjung Tomb is one of those historical monuments which attracts thousands of tourists every year and is the pride jewel in Delhi’s history. The project has been completed by Archaeological Survey of India of Ministry of Culture.
