New Delhi, July 22: The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) has initiated mid-Yatra sanitation cum Awareness Campaign in all the Yatra tracks and halting places via traditional Baltal Route of ongoing 46-day annual Amarnathji Yatra.
An ITBP official said that ITBP teams have been deputed from Domail point onwards on Baltal Route in Central Kashmir's Ganderbal district to collect garbage on way throughout Yatra track under a full-fledged campaign launched on 15th of this month.
Under the campaign, Yatris are simultaneously sensitised about the value and importance of cleanliness, hygiene and protection of ecology and environment along the trek towards holy Amarnath cave.
The ITBP teams apprise the Yatris about do's and don'ts with regard to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene along the Yatra route.
The Campaign will continue till conclusion of Yatra on August 15 coinciding with Raksha Bandhan and Shravan Purnima.
ITBP has always been a helping hand in Amarnath yatra for yatris by braving shooting stones at a snow slope by placing Shield wall to ensure the safe passage of Amarnath Yatris on Baltal route. Also, the ITBP personnel administered oxygen to over 25 pilgrims who were feeling breathlessness. Also, ITBP helped a woman yatri on the Baltal route.
