Tokyo, August 21: In a much awaited moment, Indian Women’s hockey team today beat the host Japan 2-1 and emerged victorious in the Olympic test final.
Star Indian player Navjot opened the account for Team India to take a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute. Shimizu Minami equalized for Japan the very next minute. It was a mixture of two contrasting quarters. Both the teams didn't take much time to score in the first, but then couldn't do much in the next. Eventually, Lalremsiami converted a Penalty Corner and India took lead just 4 minutes before the end of the third quarter.
