Bold and historic decision, India in one voice welcomes long awaited scraping of Article 370

New Delhi, August 5: Roping in Jammu and Kashmir by scrapping its special status under Article 370, Narendra Modi government called in for a historic decision. The long-awaited Article 370 finally being scrapped has brought in great relief for the people in Jammu and Kashmir and also all over India. Celebrating the bold and historic decision, India in one voice came in support of revoking the Article.

With the drama and chaos created in the Rajya Sabha, a copy of the Indian Constitution torn in Rajya Sabha today by PDP MP Mir Mohammad Fayaz. Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu directed him to leave the House after this incident.

 

Welcoming the move, Sushma Swaraj tweeted saying, “A bold and historic decision. We salute our Great India - one India.”

In a series of tweet, Former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley tweeted saying, “My complements to the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji and the Home Minister Shri Amit Shah for correcting a historical blunder.”

A historical wrong has been undone today. Article 35A came through the back door without following the procedure under Article 368 of the Constitution of India. It had to go. Separate status led to separatism. No dynamic nation can allow this situation to continue. What was a temporary and transient provision cannot be treated as permanent. It had to go.”

With the unprecedented move coming from the Narendra Modi led government, Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday passed a resolution to scrap Article 370. In addition to it, Amit Shah asserted that Jammu and Kashmir to be a union territory with legislature and Ladakh to be union territory without legislature.
