Geneva, September 13: Trying all tricks from its book, Pakistan has failed miserably when it comes to speak about Kashmir issue on international platform. An activist from Gilgit Baltistan, Senge H Sering voiced before the 42nd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva by stating that Gilgit Baltistan is very much a part of India. He also asserted that Pakistan has become a huge stumbling block for the last 70 years.

Atrocities on people of Gilgit Baltistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir have been on an increase as news of forced abduction and conversion have been on a rise. Pakistan has time and again exploited the natural resources and have falsely claim their power on the region. Speaking at the 42nd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva on Wednesday, Senge H Sering said, “Gilgit-Baltistan is a part of India. The members of the United Nations need to realise that Pakistan has become a huge stumbling block for the last 70 years.”

He added that Islamabad was just pretending to stand in solidarity with the people of the Gilgit-Baltistan region and Kashmir, but the world, especially the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, are aware of the fact that Pakistan has been abusing and using the people of J&K for their own benefit. Even as Pakistan creates a global uproar over India’s decision to abrogate Article 370, stripping Jammu and Kashmir of its special status and integrating the Valley with the rest of the country, the Islamic nation blatantly ignores the fact that it had unlawfully grabbed power from the Gilgit-Baltistan leadership a year ago.

He also said that Pakistan speaking about Kashmir being their territory or property is false. Lambasting at Pakistan, Sering added saying, “Suddenly when something happens in the valley everybody starts feeling the pain and the thing is that India is dealing with its own constitution. India is amending its own constitution.” People of Gilgit-Baltistan are saying that Pakistan is a hypocrite, has double standards, has no business talking about J&K, is a criminal country & an occupier.

Adding further he said, “If you think India is an occupier, your demand should be that it removes its constitutional provision from J&K & not that it should keep Art 370. By saying India should have Art 370 you're acknowledging J&K is its constitutional part & that's what we've been telling world.” The 1st business you (Pak) have, if you really believe in UN Security Council Resolution 47, is to withdraw from Gilgit-Baltistan & PoK. Pak was given 90 days to withdraw, 70 years hence it's still sitting there, stealing our resources & not paying a single penny to locals.”

Retired Colonel Wajahat Hasan from Gilgit Baltistan said, “They have kept Gilgit-Baltistan under the cockpit of Kashmir for so long era that people don't now about Gilgit-Baltistan's importance and its link with the J&K state overall.

The Gilgit-Baltistan region was created by Pakistan as a separate territory out of Jammu and Kashmir as per the Karachi Agreement in 1949, sans any deliberations with the local community and leadership. Sering had last month demanded that India must provide representation for the Gilgit-Baltistan region in the Indian Parliament to bolster its claim on the territory.
