Houston, September 22: Such is the aura and charisma of Prime Minister Narendra Modi which the world truly respects and adores. The power which forced even United States President Donald Trump to play second fiddle to the Indian Prime Minister is the legitimacy of the largest democratic mandate in human history. PM Modi was greeted by Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner and top US lawmakers as he arrived on stage amid cheers. Giving his own Indian touch as PM Modi backed Donald Trump for a second term as President, PM Modi said, “He has already made the American economy strong again. He has achieved much for the US and for the world," Modi says. "We in India have connected well to him," he adds and says "Abki baar Trump Sarkar."

PM Modi spoke about the bond shared by world’s two largest democracies and asserted that friendly relations between US and India has reached great heights. Referring to the millions of Indians present at the event, PM Modi said, “You once introduced me to your family. Today, I introduce you to my family,”

Praising PM Modi, President Trump said that Narendra Modi was working exceptionally well for India and also congratulated him for the success of winning the Lok Sabha elections. Adding he said, "600 million Indian voted overwhelmingly for prime minister and his party. I join everyone here wishing you happy birthday," he said. Lauding PM Modi’s vision of development, Trump said, “As a result of PM Modi's pro-growth policies, India has lifted nearly 300 million out of poverty, and that is an incredible number.” “Our people are progressing like never before.”

 

He also apprised the Indo-US relations to be stronger than never before and also thanked Indian-Americans. Elaborating the nature of the Indo-US relationship, Trump said that Indian-Americans are pioneering in medicine, founding new business and providing jobs to thousands. USA is working to expand exports to India.

 

While addressing the Howdy Modi event in Houston, US president Donald Trump said that the first ever NBA basketball match will happen in Mumbai next month. He also hinted at his probable visit to India as he asked PM Modi if he would be invited to the event.

This is the power of the largest democratic mandate in human history, of being elected with more than 27 Crore votes. Drums thudded loud inside the NRG stadium as PM Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump together walked up to the stage at the Howdy Modi event in Houston.
