Dr Pareexit Shevde is MD Ayurveda and an Ayurveda Expert. He has been working effectively to spread awareness and knowledge about Ayurveda through social media during the pandemic period. In an interview with Newsbharati, Dr. Shevde has shared his views regarding various facets of the issue which was triggered immediately after a notice that the Indian Medical Association (IMA) had issued against the recommendations of the AYUSH Ministry and Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan in favor of the use of Ayurveda in the COVID era, especially to deal with asymptomatic patients.

Dr Pareexit Shevde, in his interview, has tried to explain the ideological backdrop of the entire scenario. He has tried to explain how a left leaning organization like IMA has tried to not only discourage the credibility of Ayurveda, but has also insulted an ancient Indian science. The problem with leftists has always been the same that they would never accept the superiority of anything Indian that is indigenous in nature. Besides during the COVID period, where everyone is suffering and there actually no science which can be superior, IMA merely had to support the dependency of traditional medical sciences as well, along with modern medical sciences. While doing so, no one had to oppose either of the sciences and only find some way to deal with the pandemic. But IMA turned out to be arrogant enough to not just fail to acknowledge the contribution of Ayurveda but even it's authenticity.

Dr Shevde, in his interview, has stressed how Ayurveda is a Sanskara and that is not just science but something even beyond that. Along with the ideological perspective, he has also shared the economic and educational context of IMA's stubborn approach towards COVID 19. The game of Western monopoly in the medical industry that IMA is subtly managing cannot be kept hidden for a longer time from the common people and their immature approach to tackle this has been evident through their recent stand in order to oppose Ayurveda.

Dr Shevde has appreciated the government's initiative to acknowledge and recommend Ayurveda mainly to boost immunity and has said that there is yet a long way to go ahead for Ayurveda and this has to be worked upon by not only the Govt but also the people. Let there not be any institution like IMA tell the people what to do and what not to do in such times, just because the people are not well informed about the sciences which have emerged in their own land and not put forth by Westerners. People should have trust in the knowledge brought up by their ancestors.
