New Delhi, December 04: Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has sent a legal notice to Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut, seeking an "unconditional apology" for her tweets against farmers and activists involved in the farmers protest.
"We have sent a legal notice to Kangana Ranaut for her derogatory tweet calling the aged mother of a farmer as a woman available for Rs 100. Her tweets portray farmers' protests as anti-national. We demand an unconditional apology from her for her insensitive remarks on farmer's protest," Manjinder Singh Sirsa, President of DSGMC said in a tweet on Friday.
The notice comes in the wake of a tweet from Kangana alleging that the 'Shaheen Bagh dadi' also joined the farmers' agitation over the new Agri laws at various border points of the national capital.
On Thursday, Ranaut was also embroiled in a bitter war of words with Punjabi actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh over the matter. Dosanjh tagged Kangana in his tweet and wrote that one should not post whatever came to his or her mind. Mahinder Kaur was mistaken by Ranaut for Bilkis Bano who had participated in anti-CAA protests and had participated in farmer protests as well. Taking offense at Dosanjh’s tweet, Kangana said that she was referring to Bilkil Bano and that she did not even know Kaur. The argument turned ugly with both sides hurling expletives at each other.
This is the second such notice issued to the actor this week. Two days ago Ranaut was served a legal notice by an advocate in relation to her tweets regarding Bilkis Bano. However, Ranaut had deleted her tweet later. Today, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee sent a legal notice to Ranaut over her tweets that allegedly targeted farmers, activists protesting against the new farm laws.
