Advocate Vineet Dhanda has filed the plea and has urged the court to direct the agency to complete the investigation in 2 months and submit a report.

The plea contended that “the top court posed serious faith on the premier investigative agency of the country and directed an investigation into the unnatural death of late actor, as his death shook the entire country and even the fans abroad got a setback due to untimely and unnatural death of Rajput.”

“This Court passed an order for CBI enquiry on August 19, 2020, and despite a lapse of almost four months, the CBI is yet to conclude its investigation and all the eager family members, fans, well-wishers of the late actor are yet to get a solace regarding the exact reason of the death of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput,” said the plea.

Dhanda prays that the SC should not allow the probe to go on endlessly, fix a time frame of two months for completion of the investigation and direct the agency to submit a report in the court concerned and also in the Supreme Court.

It added, “Even in serious offences like murder, the law stipulates filing of charge sheet in 90 days but in the present case the premium investigating agency has failed miserably in their role and the unnecessary delay in the present case is bringing bad name to the administration of justice not only in our country but across the globe,” the plea said.

The petition further read, “The CBI is not acting responsibly in the present case and there is a delay in the conclusion of the investigation of the case”.
It said the CBI is yet to conclude its investigation despite lapsing of almost four months and added that all the eager family members, fans, well-wishers of the late actor are yet to get solace regarding the exact reason behind his death.
The Supreme Court had, on August 19, directed the CBI to probe the case related to the death of SSR. Sushant Singh Rajput was allegedly found hanging in his Bandra apartment on June 14, 2020.
