'Thalaivi' is not just a name in Tamil Nadu. It is a name that has changed the history of Indian politics. Being one of India's most flamboyant and controversial politicians in Indian politics, she has left a void that is being felt for a long time now, in both her home state, Tamil Nadu, and in the Indian political scene. The person who is called Thalavi is none other than Tamil Nadu's former chief minister J.Jayalalithaa.

Today, on the occasion of Jayalalithaa's 72nd birthday, the makers of the 'Thalaivi' movie released new look of Kangana Ranaut on social media. The movie based is on Jayalalitha's life where the new-look is leaving the fans feel amazed.
 
In the recent look, Manikarnika actress is seen wearing white saree with red just like Jayalalithaa used to wear it in 19's with her iconic red bindi with a line beneath it. The look is of Jayalalithaa in her 30s when she was about to enter politics. The new-look also shows her journey from a budding film star in the 1960s to her political victory in 1991. The colors are representative of the AIADMK flag.
For the ones who have seen the late actress in her younger days would easily spot the similarities between her and Kangana's new still from the biopic. Kangana will show the journey of Jayalalithaa from, a famous versatile actress to why she was called 'Amma' in Thalaivi.
 
Thalaivi’ has been written by ‘Baahubali’ and ‘Manikarnika’ writer KV Vijayendra Prasad and writer Rajat Arora. The movie is helmed by AL Vijay. Thalaivi is a multilingual film and will be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. Along with Kangana, South star Arvind Swami will be seen playing MGR in the film.
