RSS ABKM praises SC, Centre for Ayodhya verdict, 370 and CAA

Bengaluru, Mar 16: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) heaped praises on the Supreme Court for delivering the historical judgment in favor of ‘Ram Lala’ clearing the way for construction of a grand and magnificent temple at the birthplace of Lord Rama ending the hundreds of years dispute.

Through the other two resolutions, the RSS also congratulated the Union Government for the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A in Jammu and Kashmir and passing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) to accord citizenship to persecuted minorities coming from three neighboring Islamic countries to India.

 

Disclosing this at a press conference here RSS Sarkaryawah Suresh alias Bhayyaji Joshi said that these resolutions would otherwise be passed by the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) of RSS that was scheduled to be held at Bengaluru from March 15-17, 2020. But in view of the outbreak of Coronavirus this ABPS meeting was suspended, he said.

“For the first time in the history of RSS we have suspended the constitutional meeting of ABPS”, Joshi said. Earlier, the RSS could not hold the ABPS in 1975-76 and in 1992 as the Sangh was banned by the government of the day, he added. Barring these three aberrations, there was no break in these constitutional meetings of ABKM and ABPS from 1951, he added.

However, most of the Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal (ABKM) members had arrived a day earlier to finalize the agenda of ABPS and these resolutions were passed in the ABKM meeting which also a constitutional activity of the Sangh, Arun Kumar, RSS Prachar Pramukh, who accompanied Joshi, informed the reporters.

Bhayyaji Josh said that the ABKM took the review of the last year’s activities and it was assessed that the Sangh has expanded its reach to 70000 places in the country. This included 39000 places, 62500 daily shakha, 28500 periodical activities and 10000 contacts. Compared to last year the number of daily shakha has increased by 3000 while that of periodicals by 4000, he added.

In the Sangh Shiksha Varg (SSV), held during the summer, 15000 swayamsevaks received the RSS training. These camps are organized for swayamsevaks divided into two age groups viz. 15 to 40 and 40 to 65.

Outlining the future plans of RSS, Bhayyaji Joshi said that the Sangh contemplates utilizing the strength of 10 youth in 18 to 35 age group for organizational activities while those falling in an elderly category will be more utilized for bringing about social change, he added. The Sangh has identified nearly 1.5 million youth who could be employed in the achievement of this stupendous task of social transformation.

 

The RSS would take efforts to define the role of these 10 lakh youth and how they can be instrumental in conducting their responsibilities. Besides, the larger workforce of 1.5 million Swayamsevak who were surveyed on age, education, status, etc. parameters, would be most utilized for social activities.

Rural Development is another dimension of the RSS work. The Sangh has identified 1000 villages and in about 300 of them work is going on five aspects such as education, health, agriculture, social harmony, and self-reliance, he said.

The social change activities mainly included family education (कुटुंब प्रबोधन), environment and removing social inequality. Under the environment the RSS would stress on save water, plant trees and boycott plastic, Joshi said.
