Imran Khan the Weeping Prime Minister!

Imran Khan, Prime Minister of Pakistan, a former captain of the World Champion Pakistan Cricket team, is today a leader who lost all his sheen and shine. His leadership has failed the neighboring country on all fronts, and the pitiable condition of that country is once more exposed before the world.

A few days ago, Imran Khan addressed 22 crore people of Pakistan to brave the global war against the Coronavirus without lockdown. He motivated them to avail of this opportunity to make the country all-powerful.

But today he is the broken person. Wearing a tracksuit, sitting alone in a garden chair, this Prime Minister is seen in tears, like a helpless commander of a sinking ship.

He finds himself helpless before the fundamentalists. Recently, over 100 maulvis had given hi a warning against closing mosques during the holy month of Ramadan. Corona or no Corona, no mosque will be shut for prayers during Ramadan, they warned. And the poor Prime Minister had no option but to bow to their diktats.

The repeated pleas of Pakistan government to people to maintain social distancing are thrown to winds and this was visible from the crowd that assembled at the Lal Masjid in Lahore for the ‘Jumma Namaz’. Not one followed the government directive for saving them from the Coronavirus pandemic.

However, ironically, the Pakistan Government has ordered mass graveyard on 80-100-acre land near Karachi in Sindh province. The reports from medical and intelligence agencies must have prompted Imran Khan to take this step.

The threat of this Coronavirus, bankrupt economy and opposition from the fundamentalist and above all the possibility of a coup must have broken Khan into tears.

Moreover, Pakistan is discriminating against the minorities in these trying days of Coronavirus. The Hindus, Christians, Buddhists, Sikhs, Shia, and Ahmedias are deprived of food, medicine, and other facilities. But it has not given up its penchant for raising Kashmir issue even in such a situation.

Same Pakistan has come to its knees requesting India for life-saving drugs for its population to save them from COVID-19 attack.

This is in fact, the best opportunity for Pakistan and Imran Khan to put a full stop to all the terrorist activities against India and be a good neighbor. All he needs to do is to learn to be a human first. Otherwise, he will have to weep for his entire life!
