Civil Services 2019 Final Results: 829 candidates qualify, Pradeep Singh Tops

New Delhi, Aug 4: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Tuesday announced the results for the Civil Services Exam 2019 and a total of 829 candidates qualified as per a report issued by the Press Information Burea (PIB).

The results are based on the written part of Civil Services Examination, 2019 held by the Union Public Service Commission in September 2019, and the interviews for Personality Test held in February-August, 2020. Here on, the selected candidates will be appointed to Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service, and Central Services, Group 'A' and Group 'B'.
 
Among those who had availed the EWS quota, which was implemented in the Civil Services Exam for the first time in 2019, 78 candidates have been selected while 304 are from the general category, 251 from OBC, 129 from SC and 67 are from ST category. Meanwhile, Pradeep Singh topped the examinations followed by Jatin Kishore and Pratibha Verma.
 
 
The candidature of 66 recommended candidates is "provisional" while the result of 11 candidates has been kept "withheld", stated the press note issued by the PIB. The result of the Civil Services Examination, 2019 is subject to changes, if any, that may be necessitated by the orders that may be passed by the Courts in matters pending before them, it added.
 
UPSC conducts the Civil Services exam every year for the selection of candidates to Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service, and Other Central Services. However, the Civil Services exam 2020 was scheduled to be held on May 31. The exam has been rescheduled to October 4 in view of the coronavirus crisis.
