Being the only side who are yet to even reach an IPL final, Delhi Capitals has every covered base. After the auction, the side looked a whole package, any IPL team could have dreamt of. They have the right resources in their hand to reach the finals and clinch the title in this IPL. There is a proper blend of youth and experience to guide them to victory.

Though DC does not have an experienced captain like Dhoni, Kohli, or Sharma, under the leadership of young captain Shreyas Iyer, he can script history, given his performance in the IPL 2019. This team has stacked up many quality players who can shine even in the pressure. This side has now plenty of options to boost the batting-lineup. Young lad Shaw and experienced player Dhawan will establish a great foundation if opened the innings. Skipper might be in a dilemma after DC roped in one of the aces, Ajinkya Rahane. There is also Hetymer. Between these two, Iyer can back up the middle order. With hard-hitter Pant, the line-up will look powerful.

Stonis, Ashwin, and Axar can fill in the place of all-rounders. Kagiso Rabada leads the pace bowling of DC while the experienced Ishant Sharma and Mohit Sharma can add to the pace-attack and also with foreign bowlers Paul, Nortje, and Sams coming in, it could also be pivotal. Meanwhile, the spin department is led by two experienced spinners Amit Mishra and Ravichandran Ashwin. Moreover, Nepal's wrist-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane can prove to be extra-ordinary.

Strengths:

The DC has plenty of depth in the batting line-up this time. Even in the last season, they already had a number of players fit for the T20 format-Dhawan, Shaw, Pant, and the Shreyas Iyer. After, the inclusion of Rahane, it will be fatal for the opponents. Among the overseas, powerful hitters like Hetmyer, Marcus Stoinis, and Alex Carey could be the right option. The same goes for the bowling department, there is a pool of pacers and spinners who can help to win the matches.

Weaknesses:

The departure of big players Jason Roy and Chris Woakes could be a void for the team. Those players bought were crucial for lifting the trophies. There is an absence of consistent all-rounders. There might be Axar or Stoinis but consistency is the major problem here. None of these players can be relied upon to score a decent amount of runs and also bowl their 4 overs. There are cannot be much done with pacers as there is only Rabada and Ishant Sharma who can be depended upon.

Last year, the Delhi Capitals secured their first playoffs berth since the 2012 season. Will they clinch a maiden IPL title this time?

Players bought by DC: Jason Roy (Rs. 1.50 crore), Chris Woakes (Rs. 1.50 crore), Marcus Stoinis (Rs. 4 crores), Alex Carey (Rs. 2.4 crores), Shimron Hetmyer (Rs. 7.75 crores), Tushar Deshpande (Rs. 20 lakh), Mohit Sharma (Rs. 50 lakh), Lalit Yadav (Rs. 20 lakh).
