Uber Collaborates With Hyderabad Metro, Bus Service To Provide Real-Time Train Info

Hyderabad, September 21: In a bid to providing travelers the real-time information along with complete directions of their preferred metro trains, Ride-hailing major Uber collaborates with Hyderabad Rail Metro Limited (HRML) and L&T Metro, to integrate public transport into its app.

 

 

Hyderabad Metro is the second longest operational metro network in India after the Delhi Metro with 57 stations and the lines are arranged in a secant model. With the public transport feature, riders will be able to plan their transit journey with real-time information and end-to-end directions, all within the Uber app.

 

Users will be able to plan their commute by reviewing HMRL and Telangana State Road Transport Corporations’ (TSRTC) bus service information on the Uber app. The feature gives riders the chance to view detailed information like the fastest and cheapest routes, real-time schedules, arrival and departure times, estimated price, and walking directions to nearby transit stops to make the smartest possible journey choices.

 

KBV Reddy the MD and CEO of L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited said, “We recognize that public transport and Uber can be a powerful combination as riders will have information on metro and bus service schedules to make smart choices, along with options to complete the first and last mile of their journey.”

 

He added, “We hope with this new initiative, the people who wouldn’t regularly consider public transport will realize how easy and affordable it can be.” Earlier Uber had joined a similar force with Delhi Metro to provide similar services back in October 2019.
