New Delhi, Sept 24: Indian Air Force has issued a notification for the recruitment of airmen for Group X ( Technical Trades ) and Group Y, except education instructor, for the states of Bihar, Haryana and Rajasthan on the official IAF website. The online registration process will begin from Sept 27 and recruitment will be conducted from Oct 9 to 20, 2020.
The centres for recruitment rallies will be 1 Airmen Selection Centre, Ambala Station for candidates from Haryana, 10 Airmen Selection Centre, Air Force Station Bihta ( Patna ) for candidates from Bihar and 5 Airmen Selection Centre and Kendriya Vidyalaya - 2 Air Force Jodhpur for candidates from Rajasthan. According to the official notification, testing of candidates will be limited due to COVID-19 restrictions and in case of oversubscription, the candidates who are shortlisted based on merit will be provisional admit cards.
The employees which belong to Group X and Y of the Indian Air Force are referred to as PBOR ( Person Below Officer Rank ). Airmen in Group X work in the technical areas subject to their trade whereas the Group Y Airmen work in the non-technical field. An Airman recruit is provided with basic combat training which includes basic discipline and manners, education and weapon training. Besides they are trained for different trades. Trades is basically a military term for different sections that operate under a certain Group for the Air Force.
According to the notification, the age limit for the candidates eligible for the recruitment is born between 17 Jan 2000 and 30 December 2003, including both the days. The salary for Indian Airmen Air Force 2020 is Rs 14, 600/- per month as a trainee and Rs 33,100/- after the completion of training along with dearness allowance. The Selection process will include a Physical Fitness Test ( PFT ) followed by a Written Test, 2 Adaptability Tests and a Medical Examination.
