Marching rapidly, India administers 97 crore Covid-19 vaccines

New Delhi, October 15: Achieving its goal to fully vaccinate the citizens of the country, India has till now administered more than 97 crore 14 lakh Covid-19 vaccine doses in its Nationwide Vaccination Drive. The Health Ministry stated that over 30 lakh 26 thousand doses were administered yesterday.

More than 16,000 new cases were reported in India the last 24 hours. India's Active caseload stands at two lakh three thousand 678 and it is the lowest in 216 days. Active cases account for less than one percent of total cases and it is currently at 0.60%, the lowest since March last year. The Ministry said, the recovery rate is currently at 98.07%, highest since March last year. Over 19 thousand people recovered in the last 24 hours and total recoveries touched three crore 33 lakh 82 thousand one hundred.
 
The weekly positivity rate currently stands at 1.42% which is less than three percent for the last 112 days. Daily positivity rate is at 1.43% which is less than three percent for last 46 days. The death toll due to the pandemic has reached four lakh 51 thousand 814. In the last 24 hours, 379 deaths were reported.
 
Over 58 crore 88 lakh COVID tests have been conducted across the country so far. More than 11 lakh 80 thousand tests were conducted yesterday.
