RajyaSabha MP Swamy Subramanian in a tweet said that it was shocking that Mumbai Police would arrest for a peaceful demonstration outside the Dy High Commission of Bangladesh, by some well educated persons and members of VHS against Hindu genocide in Bangladesh.

He also raised questions on BJP's criminal silence over the attacks faced by Hindus in Bangladesh. "Why is BJP govt not protesting on the issue of the developing genocide of Hindus in Bangladesh? Are we afraid of BD? After the fear of Chinese aggression in Ladakh, we are cowed by Taliban take over of Afghanistan and want to talk with them. Will we be next afraid of Maldives?", he said.

Earlier, in an attempt to supress the Hindu voice, the Twitter deleted the user accounts of Bangladesh Hindu Unity Council and the ISKCON temple. This incident came to light after the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) asked Twitter to issue a clarification on why the accounts of ISKCON Bangladesh and the Bangladesh Hindu Unity Council are unavailable.
