Ladakh, December 15: Ladakh got its first ever FM radio station in its capital city Leh, officials said. Advisor Ladakh, Umang Narula launched the first-ever Top FM radio in Leh, added the officials.

After abrogation of article 370 and separation of Ladakh as a UT from Jammu and Kashmir, it was decided 2 new radio stations will be set up in UT, that included India’s highest ever radio station at 13,000 feet in Himbotingla near Kargil which was set up earlier this year.

The new radio station has been set up at the Ladakh's capital Leh and it will be a first top FM radio service according to the officials. But at Kargil, the radio station was set up by All India Radio on the other hand in Leh the FM radio has been set up by the Sambhav Media Group generally focused on commercial FM services like one would expect from Mirchi and Red FM services.
 
 
The frequency for Leh and Kargil will be 91.1 FM, and it will be covering 50 kilometres aerial distance in radius, they said. “Congratulating the team of Sambhav Media Group,” Narula said, and added that it is a wonderful step along with being a new source of entertainment and information.
