'Lokkho Sonar Bangla, crowdsourcing campaign' in Kolkata; Payel Sarkar joins BJP!

Kolkata, February 25: Ahead of the West Bengal Assembly Elections 2021, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday launched the 'Lokkho Sonar Bangla (manifesto) crowdsourcing campaign', in Kolkata. State BJP chief Dilip Ghosh and party's National General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya also present on the occasion.

"We're making efforts to work towards making 'Sonar Bangla', with inclusion of contributions of Swami Vivekanand, Rabindranath Tagore, Bankim Chandra Chatterjee, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Syama Prasad Mukherjee, Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar in prestigious history of WB", said BJP Chief J P Nadda.

Meanwhile, Bengali actress Payel Sarkar also happened to join the BJP Party in presence of BJP Chief J P Nadda and state BJP chief Dilip Ghosh. Earlier the day, TMC leader Mamata Banerjee in a rally accused BJP of rioting. "Every time BJP say that Trinamool Congress is 'Tolabaaj', I say BJP is 'dangabaaz and dhandabaaz'", she was quoted addressing the rally in Hoogly.

Ahead of the polls, BJP leader Amit Shah had recently launched the ‘Modipara’ app. IT Cell Head Amit Malviya had informed that 1.8 lakh users were on the app and that around 3.5 lakh visits were recorded. Roughly, 50% users are between the age of 26 and 35 years. The app has been a one-stop destination for BJP’s outreach campaigns and is proving successful in countering the rival TMC’s app ‘Didir Doot’ (messenger of Didi Mamata Banerjee). As BJP makes inroads into West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee faces tough comeptition to retain her seat to power.
