India tops globally for COVID 19 recovery cases with rate of 97.25 per cent

New Delhi, Feb 9: The daily new cases of COVID 19 in India, continue to manifest a downward trend, with only 9,110 new cases been registered in the last 24 hours. The lower count of daily cases and rising recovery numbers have ensured a sustained fall in the active cases. According to the recent reports that the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has released on Feb 9, India’s total active caseload has also dropped to 1,43,625 cases. The active caseload now consists of merely 1.32 per cent of India’s total positive cases.

The reports suggest that a total of 1,05,48,521 people have recovered so far, out of which 14,016 patients have recovered and got discharged in the last 24 hrs. The difference between the recovered patients and the active cases continues to progressively grow, which is pegged at 1,04,04,896 on Feb 9. With a consistent rise in cumulative recoveries, India’s recovery rate has reached 97.25 per cent, which is currently one of the highest globally. The UK, USA, Italy, Russia, Brazil and Germany have lower recovery rate than India’s.
 
 
Another positive update about COVID 19 cases is that India’s average daily deaths also continue to sharply decline. From a high of 211 in the second week of Jan 2021, the average daily deaths have reduced to 96 in the second week of Feb 2021, registering a decline of 55 per cent. India’s Case Fatality Rate (CFR) of 1.43 per cent is currently amongst the lowest in the world, where the Global average CFR is 2.18 per cent.
 
As on Feb 9, according to the reports till 8:00 AM, nearly 62,59,008 beneficiaries have received the vaccination under the nationwide COVID 19 vaccination exercise, out of which 5,482,102 are Healthcare Workers and 7,76,906 are Frontline workers. The reports suggest that during day 24 of the vaccination drive, 4,46,646 people were vaccinated across 10,269 sessions and 1,26,756 sessions of vaccination have been conducted so far.
 
 
Currently, 6 states/UTs remain to the center of 81.2 per cent of the new recovered cases, with Kerala reporting the maximum number of single day recoveries of 5,959 newly recovered cases. In the past 24 hrs 3,423 people recovered in Maharashtra followed by 550 in Bihar. The registered number of daily new cases counts 9,110 for the last 24 hours. The count of the new cases of 81.39 per cent is mainly contributed from 6 states/UTs.
 
Kerala, after recording maximum single day recoveries, also continues to report the highest daily new cases at 3,742. It is followed by Maharashtra with 2,216, while Tamil Nadu has reported 464 new cases. Less than 100 deaths have been reported in the country since the last 4 days, with only 78 deaths in the last 24 hours. Kerala also saw the maximum of 16 casualties, followed by Maharashtra with 15 daily deaths, while Punjab has reported 11 deaths.
