Fire at Delhi-Dehradun Shatabdi Express; no injuries

New Delhi, March 13: A fire broke out in a compartment of the Delhi-Dehradun Shatabdi Express on Saturday afternoon due to a short circuit. The incident happened near Kansro area. No casualties or injuries were reported and all passengers were safely evacuated, Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar was quoted as saying by a news agency.

"A fire broke out in the C4 compartment of the Delhi-Dehradun Shatabdi Express today, due to a short circuit. The incident happened near Kansro. All passengers were safely evacuated and no injuries have been reported so far," Kumar said. All passengers of the affected coach have been shifted to other coaches for onward journey.

Further, he informed that the fire which broke out in the C4 compartment of the Delhi-Dehradun Shatabdi Express train today had been brought under control and that all the passengers were safe.
 
The Indian Railways meanwhile also informed that all the passengers were safe and total 35 passengers of the coach had been shifted to other coaches. After the separation of affected coach, train has departed for the destination.
