J&K L-G asks officials to hoist the national flag on govt buildings within 15 days

New Delhi, March 29: In a bid to convert the Jammu Kashmir into Bharatmay Jammu & Kashmir, J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha the district to hoist the National Flag on all the Government buildings across the Union Territory (UT).

Divisional Commissioner Jammu had ordered all the Deputy Commissioners and Heads of the Departments to implement the directions within the next 15 days.Following the same, in Kashmir Valley, Anantnag's Deputy Commissioner Dr. Piyush Singla has issued a circular to the district heads and all the district, sectoral, tehsil, and block-level officers to comply with the directions.District heads have also been instructed to submit the progress report daily in this regard.
 
 
The decision was taken on Monday by the Lt Governor in a meeting with the Divisional Commissioners, District Magistrates, and Superintendents of Police of the UT. LG Sinha also asked the district officers to identify people from their areas who have played an important role in the freedom struggle and felicitate them.

This decision comes amid when India is celebrating ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’ to commemorate 75 years of India’s Independence. Organised by the central government, the Mahotsav started on March 12, 2021, and will continue till August 15, 2022.
