Srinagar, Mar 30: Soon after the Jammu and Kashmir govt ordered hoisting of the Indian tricolor at all the govt buildings, BJP leader Kavinder Gupta has stated that earlier the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir had not even a single person, who would hail 'Mother India,'which is why now is the right time to develop the feeling of 'bharatiyata' and a strong feeling of belonging to India, in the region.

The BJP leader was speaking to ANI, when he stressed upon the significance of the change in turn of events after the abrogation of article 370 and how the incidents of stone pelting and shutdown in the valley, specifically, have remarkably stopped. The leader said, "After the repeal of Article 370, shutdowns and incidents of stone-pelting have stopped. Now we need to teach 'bharatiyata.' The Indian flag is our pride and it's wrong if it is not hoisted in Kashmir. The concept of the state flag has ended now."

He further added, "It is unfortunate that we couldn't find a single man in Kashmir, who hails Mother India even after spending crores of rupees in the last 70 years. But the situation has changed now. The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha has directed the district officers of the union territory on Mar 29, to ensure that the national flag is hoisted on all govt buildings and establishments under their jurisdiction.

The Lt Governor took the decision in a meeting with the Divisional Commissioners, District Magistrates, and Superintendents of Police of the UT. LG Sinha also asked the district officers to identify people from their areas who have played an important role in the freedom struggle and felicitate them.
