J&K security forces wipe out terrorists; kills 12 terrorists in 72 hours

Jammu Kashmir, April 12: Paralyzing Pakistan-sponsored terrorism in the Jammu & Kashmir, security forces in J&K killed 12 terrorists including the chief of the Ansar Ghazwatul Hind (AGuH) over the last 72 hours. The 12 terrorists were killed in four different operations.

From that 12 terrorists, 7 terrorists were neutralized at Tral and Shhopians while 3 killed at Hatipora and 2 were from Bijbihara. According to the Director-General of Police Dilbagh Singh 12 terrorists, were belonged to Al-Badr, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and AGuH outfits. "Seven of them belonged to AGUH including the group`s chief, 3 to Al-Badr and 2 to LeT", the DGP said. AGuH chief & terrorist Imtiyaz Shah was also gunned down in the encounter in UT. It should be noted that he was the brother of terrorist Bruhan Wani.
 
He further stated that the terrorists eliminated in the operation at Bijbehara were responsible for the killing of Territorial Army (TA) jawan Mohammad Saleem AKhoon outside his residence at Goriwan yesterday. In a statement, Dilbagh Singh, Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police said that both terrorists were active for a long time and were wanted anted in many cases of terror crimes.
 
 
 
"Both the hardcore local terrorists have been neutralized. They were responsible for yesterday's killing of a TA jawan. Have been active for a long and wanted in many cases of terror crime," said DG. Arms and ammunition have also been recovered from the possession of the slain terrorists.
 
The IGP said one of the slain militants in the Shopian encounter was newly recruited into the militant ranks and security forces made efforts to persuade him to surrender, but the other militants did not allow him.
 
 
 
 
“Parents also made appeals, but other terrorists didn’t let him surrender,” Kumar said. He identified the slain militants as Aasif Ahmad Ganai and Faisal Gulzar Ganai—both residents of Chitragam Kalan. The identity of the third militant is yet to be ascertained.
