6th edition Raisina Dialogue starts with EAM S Jaishankar stressing on 'South-South' cooperation

New Delhi, Apr 13: The 6th edition of India’s flagship conference on geopolitics and geo-economics, 'Raisina Dialogue', has started from today. The conference will take place virtually from Apr 13-16. The President of Rwanda and Denmark PM were present as Chief Guests during the inaugural session.

The theme for 'Raisina Dialogue 2021' is “Viral World: Outbreaks, Outliers and Out of Control”. According to the MEA, the dialogue will have panel conversations on five thematic pillars, 50 sessions with participation of 150 speakers from 50 countries and multilateral organisations. The External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, during the virtual meeting, stressed on South-South cooperation, humanitarian assistance and disaster resistance. Jaishankar said, "South-South cooperation has been around for a while. With greater globalization, it is important to change those fancy words into practical initiatives."
 
 
 
 
While lauding the Indian effort in providing COVID 19 vaccinations across the world, he said, "Even before the pandemic, India has been providing humanitarian assistance, disaster resistance to all. We have demonstrated in a practical manner, our belief that the world is a family." India has so far provided COVID 19 vaccines to 83 countries and the total number of vaccines exported is 6.45 crore under Vaccine Maitri initiative.
