Delhi Court grants bail to accused Deep Sidhu in Red Fort violence case

New Delhi, April 17: In the major development, Delhi court granted the bail to actor and red fort violence accused the Deep Sindu on a personal bond of Rs 30,000 and two sureties of a like amount.
Sessions Judge Nilofer Abeeda Parveen ruled the judgment today. The judgment reads, “the present application is allowed and accused Sandeep Singh Sidhu @ Deep Sidhu is granted regular bail in case FIR No. 96/2021, subject to his furnishing personal bond with two local sureties in the sum of Rs 30,000/- each to the satisfaction of the Ld. Trial Court/Duty MM..”

However, the Court has directed Sidhu to deposit his passport with the Investigating Officer (IO) and ensure that the phone number given by him to the Officer is switched on throughout with “location activated and shared with IO”.
 
 
The Court also directed Sidhu to scrupulously appear on every date of hearing before the Trial Court. The Court has also directed Sidhu to not influence, threaten, intimidate witnesses or tamper with evidence in any manner whatsoever.
 
Sidhu was arrested on February 9 in connection with the Red Fort violence on January 26 during a farmers' tractor parade against the Centre's three new agriculture laws. Sidhu was arrested for several offenses under the Indian Penal Code including rioting (147 and 148), unlawful assembly (149), attempt to murder (120-B), criminal conspiracy (120-B), assaulting or obstructing public servant (152), dacoity (395), culpable homicide (308) and disobedience to order promulgated by a public servant (188) 
 
On January 26 during a farmers' tractor parade, thousands of protesting farmers created siege in Delhi and on the red fort.
