New Delhi, April 19: Amid the ongoing COVID-19 crisis in the country, National Testing Agency has given relief to the student and postponed the Engineering entrance exam Joint Entrance Examination, JEE Main till further order.
Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' announced the news via social media. "Given the current #covid19 situation, I have advised @DG_NTA to postpone the JEE (Main) – 2021 April Session. I would like to reiterate that the safety of our students & their academic career is @EduMinOfIndia's and my prime concerns right now," Nishank tweeted.
In a media release shared by Nishank, the NTA has informed that the decision to postpone the exam has been taken in view of the present situation of COVID-19. "looking at the present situation of COVID-19 pandemic and also taking into account the safety and well being of candidates and examination functionaries, it has been decided to postpone JEE-(Main) April session," the statement reads.
The JEE (Main) April Session was scheduled to be held on the 27th, 28th, and 30th of this month. The ministry has further informed that the revised dates for the examination will be announced later with prior notice of at least 15 days before the examinations.
"The revised dates will be announced later on and at least 15 days before the examination," the order said.Last year, the JEE Mains examination was conducted in the month of September while the results were announced on October 5.
