Massive Donation! Vitalik Buterin donates over $1 Billion to India Covid Relief Fund

Mumbai, May 14: With the covid's second wave is spiraling out of control in India, more people are coming forward to help India. Now, World's youngest, cryptocurrency billionaire Vitalik Butlerian pitched in to help India in this crisis. The billionaire has donated cryptocurrency worth $1.14 billion to the India COVID-Crypto Relief Fund and a range of other charities.

Buterin donated 50 trillion SHIB tokens amounting to $1.2 billion in a single transaction on 12 May to the Sandeep Naliwal-founded Indian Covid Relief Fund Sandeep Nailwal is known for being co-founder and COO of Polygon. SHIB is another meme cryptocurrency. Shiba Inu is named after the Japanese hunting dog breed. SHIB has exploded in popularity in recent months.
 
 
Naliwal gave the information about the donation via social media. He also praised him for supporting India. He has also assured SHIB investors that the sum would be spent responsibly. He wrote, “Thanks @VitalikButerin One thing we have learnt from Ethereum and @VitalikButerin is importance of community. We will not do anything which hurts any community especially the retail community involved. We will act responsibly! Plz, don’t worry Shib holders.”
 
 
 
Apart from the SHIB tokens, Vitalik Butlerian also transferred 500 ether (or about $1.9 million) to the relief fund. Apart from Vitalik, former Australian cricketer Brett Lee to has made donations in the form of cryptocurrencies. He has donated a bitcoin worth Rs 45 lakh to crypto relief to help India with the purchase of oxygen supplies for the hospitals across India.
