Mahindra launches "Oxygen on Wheels" to ram up oxygen supply

New Delhi, May 03: In a bid to bridge the gap of the Oxygen shortage in India, Carmaker Mahindra and Mahindra come up with an amazing initiative to help the nation in this difficult time. On Sunday, Mahendra launched "Oxygen on Wheels" to ease the transportation of oxygen from producing plants to hospitals and homes.

Anand Mahindra launched this initiative via social media. He tweeted, "Today, Oxygen is the key to reducing mortality. The problem is not of oxygen production but its transportation from producing plants to hospitals and homes. We're attempting to bridge this gap with ‘Oxygen on Wheels’ a project implemented via Mahindra Logistics."
 
 
 
For now, the Oxygen on Wheels will roll out in Maharashtra's Mumbai, Thane, Nashik, and Nagpur. Mahendra is also planning to expand the project through the country by leveraging the supports of its dealership network. The company has lined up around 70 Bolero pickup trucks to deliver oxygen cylinders. According to Mahendra, under the initiative, the company has already delivered 61 jumbo cylinders to 13 hospitals till now.
 
 
Reacting to the news Actor R Madhavan lauded Mahendra and termed it ‘awesome’. He also asked if there was any way if he could help. The actor tweeted, "Awesome. God bless you, sir .. pls let’s know how we may assist."

Meanwhile, Jindal Stainless Ltd will airlift medical oxygen from its plant in Odisha to Hisar in Haryana. The first batch of 14.79 tonnes was dispatched on Saturday night from the Odisha facility, the firm said in a statement. Apart from Mahendra and Jindal, Ratan tata and Ambani-led reliance have also stepped forward to help the nation amid this crisis.
