Kolkata, May 6: The frenzied activists of Trinamool Congress allegedly attacked the caravan of V Murlidharan, Union Minister of State for External Affairs today in West Medinipur district of West Bengal.

The Minister said in a twitter message, “TMC goons attacked my convoy in West Midnapore, broken windows, attacked personal staff. Cutting short my trip”.

It may be mentioned that the unprecedented third time victory of the TMC sent the party activists in frenzy and they started systematic attacks on the rival BJP workers. Physical attacks, violence, rape and arson and loot have become the order of the day in post election Bengal.

The Central Government has taken the note of the violence and the sought the report from the Governor on the latest situation in the state. The MHA has decided to send four teams to the violence affected areas and asked them to send their report within 48 hours.

All said and done, the seriousness of the hooliganism let lose in Bengal by the TMC activists needs to be stopped forthwith. Instead of taking actions against them Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee is accusing the BJP of indulging in violence.

In a twitter message she alleged that the BJP leaders were roaming around and provoking…They are actually not ready to accept the mandate. “I request them to accept people’s mandate”, she said.

The Chief Minister also announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh to the families of those who died in the post-poll violence ‘without any discrimination’, under law and order by EC. 16 were killed half of whom are from TMC and half from BJP, one was from Sanjukta Morcha, the Chief Minister said while talking to news agency ANI.

Meanwhile, widespread condemnation are pouring in on social media deploring the TMC attack on V Murlidharan, Union Minister who had cut short his tour of the state. BJP President Jagat Prasad Nadda condemned the violent attack and wondered if the Minister came under attack by the TMC goons, what to talk about the common people’s security?

Nadda further alleged that soon after the elections the West Bengal is witnessing TMC-sponsored violence and BJP workers are continuously targeted.

When thousands are running for safe shelters to save their lives, rapes are being committed where are those who raised their voices for human rights and freedom of speech, he asked.

BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia too deplored the attack on V Murlidharan and urged the West Bengal Government to restore the law and order situation as early as possible.
