Expressing his dissatisfaction Jagan advised him saying it is not a time to point fingers but work unitedly and become the strength of PM to effectively combat the pandemic.

Taking a dig at the Jharkhand CM, Jagan tweeted on Friday, “I have great respect for you, but as a brother, I would urge you, no matter whatever our differences are, indulging in such level of politics would only weaken our nation.” He added, “In this war against COVID-19, these are the times not to point fingers but to come together and strengthen the hands of our Prime Minister to effectively combat the pandemic.”

On 6 May, PM Modi had called the Chief Ministers personally to take stock of the ongoing pandemic and the problems faced by the states. After a telephonic conversation with PM Modi, Jharkhand CM tried to dig at PM by alleging that he only spoke “Mann ki Baat” and that it would have been better if he had discussed business. Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren tweeted, "Respected Prime Minister called today. He only talked about his "Mann Ki Baat". It would have been much better if he would have talked business and listed the necessary issues."

Following his comment Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan taunted him saying “fight with Corona and not the PM".

In a tweet, Vardhan said, “While making a statement on the Prime Minister, one must not forget that the pandemic can be brought under control only by the combined efforts of the Centre and the state governments”. He further said that when the Centre has opened its treasuries to help the poor during the pandemic, the Jharkhand government has further tightened its purse strings.

One should be noted that Jharkhand is one of the covid hit states in the country. UPA govt-led state is one of the top ten states and union territories that account for more than 75 percent of COVID-19 deaths in the country.

Meanwhile, Jagan's stand for PM Modi was very surprising for others. Jagan's this step has sparked lots of questions over Jagan's entry in NDA.
