Chinese man nabbed by BSF carried 1,300 Indian SIM cards to China: BSF

New Delhi, June 12: Chinese national who was nabbed by the Border Security Force (BSF) from the Sultanpur Indo-Bangla border in Malda has revealed some shocking details during the interrogation. According to the BSF, the Chinese nation who has identified himself as Han Junwe is a wanted criminal, has smuggled as many as 1,300 Indian SIM cards to China by hiding them in undergarments.
  
Upon thorough investigation, it came to the fore that Junwe has bought around 1,300 Indian SIM cards using forged documents and taken them to China. The smuggled SIM was later used in China to hack Indian accounts and carry out other financial frauds in India. "Through his associate, he used to hide the SIM cards in undergarments and send them to China," confirmed the BSF.

"These SIM cards were used to hack into accounts and perpetrate other forms of financial fraud. Their goal was to defraud people by using SIM cards to withdraw money from ATMs,” said BSF in a statement.

The 35-year-old Chinese national was intercepted around 6 am on Thursday by BSF troops at the border area in Malda, West Bengal. When troops questioned him, he didn't give a satisfactory reply and was then handed over to concerned agencies and local police.
 
 
 
The Chinese intruder informed BSF that he had come to India four times. He had come to Hyderabad in 2010 and Delhi, Gurugram thrice after 2019. He said his business partner was caught by ATS Lucknow. Apart from this, a Blue Corner Notice was also issued against him. A Blue Notice is generated to collect additional information about a person's identity, location, or activities in relation to a crime.
 
 
“He owns a hotel in Gurugram and works for a Chinese intelligence agency. His business partner was arrested by the ATS a few days ago, and he and his wife are wanted here, said an official.
