'Can change demography': UP Police nabs Rohingya infiltrator syndicate; fake IDs seized

The Anti Terror Squad of the Uttar Pradesh Police on Saturday arrested 4 more Rohingyas on June 18 after two were arrested on June 17 in Aligarh. It is till date that 15 Rohingyas have been arrested from Uttar Pradesh recently, the highest in the country. They had arranged fake identity documents.

The Uttar Pradesh Police is running a massive operation in the state to identify and arrest the Rohingyas who have been living in the state illegally. One Hafiz Shafiq from Meerut was running the gang of four, Mohammed Ismail, Azizul Rehman, Shamiulla, and Mufizurehman. They used to facilitate the entry of more Rohingyas and were also arranging fake documents for them.
 
 
 
Uttar Pradesh ADG, Law & Order, Prashant Kumar said, “Gang members used to make fake United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Card and take a lot of money and then help people enter India illegally after making their fake Indian IDs. These people were involved in criminal and anti-national activities.”
 
These Rohingyas are also trafficking women to other countries. Kumar Said, “They've also sent some Rohingya women to foreign countries using fake documents. This is the first time, that the human trafficking angle has come to our knowledge, as we have found evidence that they have sent some women to Malaysia. The investigation is underway.”
