Big success to Security Forces! J&K security forces guns down top LeT commander and 2 others

Srinagar, June 21: Tightening the noose over the Pakistan-sponsored terrorism, Jammu Kashmir security forces killed the most wanted terrorist and Lashkar-e-Taiba's commander Mudasir Pandit along with two other terrorists in north Kashmir’s Sopore village.

Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel launched a cordon and search operation late on Sunday night in the Gund Brath area of Sopore following the tipoff about the Pandit. The operation was well coordinated and top security forces of Jammu and Kashmir congratulated the team that operated the encounter.
 
 
 
“Top LeT terrorist Mudasir Pandit who was involved in the killing of 3 policemen, 2 BJP councilors & 2 civilians recently, has been killed in the Sopore encounter. A total of three LeT terrorists have been killed in the encounter,” Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar.

As per the information given by the IG Kumar, Pandit was involved in the killing of three policemen, two councilors, and two civilians recently apart from several other terror-related crimes. He was one of the two local terrorists involved in the attack on policemen on June 12.
 
 
 
The forces also confirm that Pandit was active in Kashmir for many years, and the police wanted him in many cases, including the killing that happened during a meeting in Sopore in March. Kumar further said, "Killing of LeT commander Mudasir is big #relief for the local population."
 
 
Apart from the Pandit, LeT terrorist Asrar, was also killed in the encounter. Asrar had infiltrated in the valley and according to the security sources he was in North Kashmir and 60th target in the wanted list.
 
 
For the last few days, joint teams of the army, J&K police, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were conducting joint operations in the vicinity of Sopore following the terror attack on police in Sopore on June 12.
