Lucknow, June 22: After the ATS unearthed the mass Islamic conversion racket and arrested two clerics, now Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered action under the Gangster Act and National Security Act (NSA) against the accused

The Chief Minister has ordered stringent action against them. CM Adityanath asked the agencies to further probe the racket and dig deeper to nab all those who are involved. Moreover, the state government has also ordered the authorities to seize the properties of the accused.

Yesterday, UP ATS arrested Mufti Qazi Jahangir Alam Qasmi and Mohammad Umar Gautam, from Delhi for forcibly converting over 1,000 people to Islam. Police have booked them on various charges, including those under the Indian Penal Code and Uttar Pradesh's stringent anti-conversion law.
 
 
 
 
According to the information given by police, the accused were operating Institution Islamic Dawa Center in Jamia Nagar with a solo purpose to convert unsuspecting people to Islam in an organized manner and sought funds for the same. According to the UP ATS, those involved in this racket were funded by ISI.
 
Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar said that the ATS had been working on the intelligence inputs that some people were getting funds from the ISI and other foreign agencies for converting poor people to Islam and spreading communal enmity in the society.

Kumar said the arrested accused would be produced before the court and the police would seek their custody for further probe into the case.
