Indian Army brave freezing temp & heavy rains, construct Footbridge Over Jamian Nala in record time to help 8 Dera Migrant Families

Rajouri, June 04: Battling heavy rains and freezing temperature at 9000 ft, the Indian Army has reconstructed the 30 ft footbridge over Jamian Nala in record time which was washed away due to rainfall during intervening night, helping 8 Dera migrant families with 1500 livestock.

A footbridge is a bridge designed solely for pedestrians. While the primary meaning for a bridge is a structure which links "two points at a height above the ground", a footbridge can also be a lower structure, such as a boardwalk, that enables pedestrians to cross wet, fragile, or marshy land.

Earlier the month, the Indian Army, in wake of the COVID had distributed food to the needy people outside Govt Medical College in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. While, all dhabas, hotels, restaurants were completely closed amidst the pandemic hit at the Union Territory, this endeavor of the Army had won the praises of the residents of the area.
