Thalaivaa's Political exit! Rajinikanth dissolves his political party Rajini Makkal Mandram

Chennai, July 12: Putting the fullstop on the speculation about his political entry, the Thalaivaa superstar Rajinikanth on Monday dissolve his political party Rajini Makkal Mandram saying he has no plan to enter in the politics.
Rajinikanth announced the decision after holding an hour-long meeting with the RMM functionaries. Dissolving the political party he clarified he said that the party however will continue as a fans' welfare association.
“I had thought of starting a political party and getting involved in politics. But the timing was such that it was not possible. I have no intention of getting involved in politics in the future, so I kindly inform you that the Rajini Makkal Mandram will function as a fan charity forum for the benefit of the people,” superstar Rajinikanth said in the statement.
Besides he also requested the office bearers of Rajini Makkal Mandram to dissolve it and function as Rajini Fans Welfare Mandram without aligning with any other organisation.
This decision came 4 years after he announced his decision to float a political party to practice 'spiritual politics' and contest all 234 Assembly seats in Tamil Nadu in 2021. However, in 2020, he stepped back from the election citing his health condition after hospitalisation in Hyderabad. The actor then had said that his entry into politics was a "compulsion of time" since the country's politics had gone wrong.
