New Delhi, July 20: A day after ultra-leftist media house The Wire issued Pegasus spyware report in a bid to defame the Indian Government, Union Home Minister Amit Shah hit back the opposition Congress and ultra-leftist media house using the famous phrase "Aap chronology samjhiye (understand the chronology)."

“People have often associated this phrase with me in a lighter vein but today I want to seriously say - the timing of the selective leaks, the disruptions…AAP Chronology Samajhiye!,” he said in a statement.

What is the matter?

The leftist propagandist website, The Wire 18 July published a report that the Modi Government is using Israeli spyware Pegasus to snoop on more than 300 verified mobiles including journalists, Indian ministers, Supreme Court judges, opposition leaders, and other notable personalities. It is belive that the Wire published this report just a day before the Monsoon Session of Parliament to cause disruptions in Parliament.

What Shah said?

He further added that such "obstructors" and "disruptors" will not be able to derail India's development trajectory with their conspiracies.

“This is a report by the disrupters for the obstructers. Disrupters are global organisations that do not like India to progress. Obstructers are political players in India who do not want India to progress. People of India are very good at understanding this chronology and connection,” Amit Shah added.

Shah also questioned the timing of the "selective leaks" on the eve of the Monsoon session and said they have been amplified by a few whose only aim is to do whatever is possible to humiliate India on the world stage. "To see the rudderless Congress, jump on to this bandwagon is not unexpected. They have a good experience in trampling over democracy and with their own house not in order, they are now trying to derail anything progressive that comes up in Parliament," the minister said.

Shah also alleged that the report about the alleged snooping has been amplified by a few with only one aim - to humiliate India at the world stage. The home minister said he wanted to assure the people of India that the Modi government's priority is clear 'National Welfare' - and it will keep working to achieve that no matter what happens.

What is Pegasus?

The Pegasus is highly advanced spyware that can gain access to someone’s cellphone after the user clicks a link sent by it, or even with a missed call. After installing itself stealthily, Pegasus begins to contact control servers which allow it to send commands to gather data from the infected device.
